I've been reading all of the forum posts about outbound clicks, but I just wanted to make 100% sure.

I have a premium account and I was wondering if outbound clicks are tracked AUTOMATICALLY without me having to put any javascript or css code in my "a href" link tags. I already have the clicky code in my footer but my outbound clicks aren't being tracked at all.

I really need to be able to track every outbound click on the site without having to use any javascript/css codes because eventually that will just become too much of a hassle. It'd be great if it tracked them automatically.

I've noticed something weird.

If I got into "Searches", and set a keyword to filter by it shows me x results.

Then I goto "Visitors" and select the keyword as a filter and it shows me zero results.

I would expect to see the visitor information for all those that showed up in the Searches example, but with the additional actions and other information that gets shown in this view

Am I doing something wrong? Is the filter on "Searches" the same as running a filter in the "Visitors" sections?

Is there a special syntax I need to use?

Thanks

Will the WWW site ID's visitor count include all SHOP visitors as well, or do I need to combine the numbers?

It's also confusing to figure out the bounce rate and average time spent. Is it considered a bounce if a person arrives at WWW and goes straight to a SHOP page? And does the average time spent restart once they move from WWW to SHOP, or vice versa?

I have noticed over the past week or so that increasingly visitors are double counted. I am seeing around 20% more visits as a consequence (verified with GA).

The first session usually has only one action and is followed one minute later by a second session again often with only one action.

Both visits are then treated as a bounce which has also increased the bounce rate by 20%!

The unique visits numbers have been consistent.

Any ideas?

Hi there,
I'd like to have a 3rd party booking engine pass back to my client the order value, and if possible, the order type (in this case an accommodation package) to the clients website.

My understanding is that I can add the booking engine to the domains of the clients account and I can track the reservation back, so long as I am able to put the tracking code on the booking engine, and it passes back some variables.

I am able to do this.

Reading through the customized tracking guide it looks like clicky_custom.goal would be the appropriate implementation method to use. Where I ask the booking engine to provide the ID field as the Package name and the revenue the total reservation value.

Accordingly if a "double room package" was purchased for $300.00 would I might expect to see the following in the tracking code....

  var clicky_custom = {};
  clicky_custom.goal = {
id: "double room package", // id is lowercase!
    revenue: "300"
  };

I also need to supply the standard clicky tracking code with the above.

CAN ADMIN advise if this is the correct implementation. Is it possiible for Clicky to automaticallly create goals using the ID as the goal name when they are received through the domain

Thanks for your help.

In the future I'll be including one of the widgets in a client's CMS, and I'm wondering why there is a link to clicky, "Clicky Web Analytics", underneath the title?

I understand including that on widgets for free accounts, but I'm a paying user and I don't want that link on there. Can you please explain the forced self-promotion?

it would be nice if one could change some CSS settings, like .visitors or .item, e.g. to reduce the padding etc.

Would it be possible to display previous posts by the person who submitted the post like in most forum sites?

Might be useful if you cannot remember if you asked the same question before.

Hi,

I don't think I am the first person to raise this issue but is there a way of adding a URL to the list of search engines? At the moment anything I get back from BT Search just comes through as a link.

In the UK we have BT Search which is actually just Yahoo with a BT skin on top.

This is the URL that was displayed in the links area... http://search.bt.com/result?p=mushroom%2fduckegg+curtains.

Thanks

I use clicky on a site designed for and used by people on iPhones. The problem is that the outgoing links doesn't get saved. Only if they visit the site from a computer.

Why is that? How do I fix it?

Thank you in advance!

Hey guys,

we´re wanting to implement a link for our support so that they can find out what browser version the user is using by the users ip. The private link feature would be ideal, but we can`t seem to get the URL right.
We tried to add the " &date=2009-10-19&ip_address=12.123.123.123 " directly to the private key:
http://getclicky.com/stats/home?site_id=00000&sitekey=abcdefgehskd
This works fine when you're logged in, but with the private key we keep going to the overview site.

Any ideas on what we did wrong?
Thanks for your help!

Using a dynamic script (a script appended to the DOM by JavaScript) to load and initialize Clicky

I'm creating an HTML/JavaScript widget to be used on third-party sites. This widget is generated by a script that our customers will insert on their page. The script creates an iframe in the customer's domain, and then creates and inserts all of that iframe's content using JavaScript.

It's important that this iframe contain Clicky's tracking code to monitor clicks on outbound links. Unfortunately, I'm not having any luck getting Clicky to work when I append the requisite script elements to the iframe using JavaScript.

I first tried simply appending the Clicky tracking code to the iframe after appending some test outbound links, hoping that Clicky could attach to those automatically as it does on a static page. That didn't seem to work, so my next inclination was to use the "advanced_disable" custom option and use clicky.log() on the links I want to track. Here's a link to a test page that's along those lines:

http://onespot.wsj.com/static/clicky_iframe_test.html

When clicking a link on that test page, the action is not logged in Clicky, and a JavaScript error appears:

clicky is not defined

This ("clicky") appears to be defined in http://static.getclicky.com/js, which I confirmed through the Firebug console ("Net" tab) is indeed loading before I click a test outbound link.

Has anyone successfully loaded Clicky in this way? If so, could you provide some sample code, a link to a working implementation, or some feedback on what's wrong with my code? I would also be interested to know if this is even possible.

Thanks very much for any help or advice!

10 Goals not enough

Guys,

I am running a take-out food referral site, and am tracking the referrals (my goals) to upto 30 online order portals on each of my websites. This number could increase dramatically in the future...

We need to be able to see which portals are genrating the most orders so 10 Goals is just not enough to run this program.

Currently, we are only tracking the top 10 using a java script goal on the referral page.

Could you either suggest an alternative way to track all 30, or add an increased goal setup to your list of feature requests?

Many thanks,

Justin
